i have 2 small Ctenopoma acutirostre for sale after changing my stocking plans for a new tank. they are still quite small at about 2 inches max, my plans were to grow then up and put them in with my bigger cichlids but ive decided to stick with just cichlids now. they are both very healthy and eating like mad so im sure it wont be long before they are hitting 4 inches. they grow to a max of about 6 inches and are a predatory fish but not aggressive so small neons etc may not be great tank mates. i use to keep some with discus and angels with no problems and smaller fish like platys and larger tetras etc. i paid £15 for 3 but 1 is no longer with me so ill let them go for £8 for the 2 ono. i will not post.

Totally irrelevant matt but what eventually happened with the bushfish that tried to eat the Oto?
Free bumpage :hey:

 :X Sorry for your loss matt
thanks Carl, it wasnt a nice experience but i had no choice as the oto was really wedged in its mouth and stuck in by the pectoral fins. it was just a case of a greedy bushfish with eyes bigger than its belly....

just took a pic of them

all the fish that are currently in the tank (true SAE, bushfish, sun catfish) were intended for my big tank but ive decided against them because ive changed the stocking plans and gone c/s american. i had already bought these fish to grow up before adding them so i have no room for them now.... the tank they are in isnt suitable long term either and in 6 months or maybe sooner they will be too big for it.

Would these go okay with the stocking for my new tank Matt?.....
i shouldnt see why not Ryan. the only thing i wouldnt put them in with would be small tetras but as you are going for emperor tetras they should be fine. a defo no no with neons and fish of that size especially when they are a bit larger.

I've already got the Emperors mate, they're probably around 2.5" at the mo.

I'll have these off you if you can hold on to them until next weekend at the latest. Could probably get them on Wednesday though.

Ryan :)
