Hi guys,

Has anyone had any experience at keeping Lemon Tetra's ??

I'm setting up an amazon biotype river tank, and it's been suggested that Lemon Tetra's are often found in the same biotype, as the L134's I'm getting.

My local LFS has got these in stock at the moment, for £1.20 each, or 12 for £11 ;)

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Andy

we have these at work and I can say they are very nippy.
so much so that the only fish we can put in the same tank as them are Roberti tetrasHyphessobrycon robertsi, which are also a nipper.

I have lemon tetras with glowlites and black neons. Mine aren't nippy, at least not with this mix. Sometimes they chase each other to establish hierarchy, but that's about it. They don't school as much as I thought they might. Actually, all the fish seem to hang around together, regardless of type.

I have 6 lemon tetras with all the fish listed below. They do sometimes chase eachother though like what pjfish said. Otherwise they don't bother any of my fish i have in there. Lemon tetras acheive great colors. Having yellow pointed tips on there upper fin and lower fin with black outlining , and mosty the having a yellow body. I think you should get some they are a great fish for a community tank!

I bought 12 Lemon's for my 135G Tetra Tank...6 are now sadly dead...great fish once they settle in and the yellow starts to show...no problems with nipping just got a bad bunch..

oh, i'm a tetra expert. well anyways, lemon tetra, nope, never owned one, but i can tell u this, they r just as nippy as a serpae tetra, i'd have to say the nippiest tetra is the buenios aries tetra. now, those r nippy, used have one, got mad when it died, it was albino.

hi

I have a mix of glowlight, lemon, neon and bleeding hearts together..... all get on fine.... :)

lemon tetras are a beautiful fish and i think they look much better once they are settled at home rather than in the shop...

its probably always better to buy more than less though, same as with any tetra :)

Will probably go for about 20 of them when I get my filter media matured !!! ;)

Should be in a couple of weeks time....

Will keep you posted with plenty of pics when they get settled in !! ;)

i have some lemons with some dwarf gouramis, glowlights & cherry barbs & they all get along fine, no nipping at all. i love their yellow coloring and the black & white on their fins.
