I think I just added a small bloodworm size leech into a tank. I collected a couple of decent rocks to add into my new nano setup and put them into the sink in hot water to scrub them off. I noticed what appeared to be a very small worm wriggling about in the sink so thought I'd give my fish something to fight for.
Yeah, I dropped it into my 120ltr tank, heavily planted and the fish were on to it immediately, but it managed to drop to the bottom and make its way into some java moss or substrate underneath it. Try as I might I can't find the damn thing. What makes me think it was a small leech is that it seemed to swim to safety rather than wriggle around.
I know not all leeches suck blood but I would rather be rid of the thing.
Apart from the screams of "you bloody idiot" is there anything you can suggest?

Leeches are real interesting, but I don't know how you would get rid of it. They could end up feeding on your fish if it is the right size, they are opportunistic feeders. There are a lot of different type worms, you might not have added a leach. As long as your fish are OK you will likely have to live with the creature in the tank if you cannot find it.
