Hi; bit of a long shot.I have a marina vue tank (fluval).Recently purchased a Nicrew time switch/controller .The tank is fitted with touch switch so LEDs are white/blue.The switch is a nightmare so I thought I would bypass it with a controller.I can get to switch off at night it slowly dims to mimic sunset. However I can’t get it come on at sunrise.I’ve tried different configurations with the light switch .Thks.

I'm not sure I can help...I have a 48" Finnex Planted Plus 24/7 running in 24/7 mode on my 60g display tank. I put it on a simple timer so it has power from 7am - midnight. This gives the fish the period of total darkness they need at night. When the power comes on, the light automatically starts at 6am in the 24/7 cycle.
Perhaps a simple external timer would work as well for you? :)

If your tank is in a bedroom, maybe get the digital version of the above. Eventually the internal battery will fail to recharge itself and they usually no replaceable but they don't cost much more than the clockwork ones.

I bought one like the above... and the tic tic tic tic was surprisingly irritating.

I forgot to say this is a digital timer,

I don't think the issue can be resolved by a timer, unless individual elements of the lamp can be attached by different timers.
The problem with this particular range of lamps appears to be that there is only 'On' or 'Off'. Granted, when done manually, the lamp will come on and go off gradually, but attaching the lamp to a timer wouldn't work.

I looked long and hard at a variety of options before I got my Aquasky.

Have you seen this Fluval Dual LED Aquarium Lamp Timer?

Some fluval lights require a physical "reset" when power is disrupted (i.e. unplugging, power outage, or a timer). So when the light itself is on and the timer interrupts the power supply it shuts off. Then when the timer restores power to the light, it's the same as unplugging and plugging back in and the light switch needs cycled to "reset". When power is cut to these type of light switches, the switch always defaults to OFF when power is restored.

I have 4 of those Nicrew controllers and no issues. For my Flex (only fancy Fluval, my Marina only does on and off) I do have to set the tank light at 100% and white. Then it behaves as expected. If I try to use the Flex controller to set anything other than 100% white the results are unpredictable.

The Nicrew single channel timer is advertised to turn the light on and off along with the gradient lighting so I'm confused as to the 'problem'. Perhaps there's a defect?
If I'm reading OP correctly, they have a fluval light and are trying to use a nicrew timer inline between power source and the light itself. I do this with a led light on my nano tank. Leave the light on and use an inline digital timer to turn power to light on and off. The timers can also simulate sunrise/sunset by limiting the amount of voltage supplied to the light.
The problem can be with fluval and some other lights with digital switches, when the power is disrupted by the timer the light defaults to OFF when the timer restores power.

Hopefully that works for OP!

I tried this;with some success. The light now comes on with the timer but only the blue light(no white). When goes off the white light dims ending on blue for a moment then off.
Thks in advance.
