1) bettas do like to jump...
i had 1 male and 1 female in about 3 gallons of a split tank.. and a female in the breeding trap... the female from the tank jumped into the trap and tore most the scales off of the nice turquoise female from bcbetta...
.. that fish then jumped out of the trap and into the tank with the male... also bad... she is now back in the trap with some salt.. i have no melafix or anythin to help the scales.. hopefully shell heal with some good food..
2) keeping females together...
i had 8 in an 8 gallon tank.. 2 many...
1 large aggressive,1 large not so aggressive, 2 small ones non aggressive, 3 non aggressive medium sized ones, 1 aggressive medium-large...
1 of the non aggressive mediums got ripped up.. now in a vase... another medium got ripped up, in a cup (the one from above that jumped into trap and ripped up turquoise).. sentenced to a cup till tomorrow (more vases)
3) dont buy bettas from petcetera...
spend the extra money and get from breeders plz www.bcbetta.com <- great fish..
so much better quality, always healthy, strong, and very nice in general
thats about it... sometimes i dont listen to ppls advice and i regret it.. ive learned from my own mistakes, and in makin these mistakes i realized i should listen to people that know more than me about fish.. many great ppl here with great knowledge.. only wished i listened to them.. FROM NOW ON I WILL!
also.. dont be an idiot like me and put 6 convicts and 2 firemouths in a 20 gallon tank... i should have listened to other ppl.. none of the cons are injured, but the firemouths got beat up..
so remember, LISTEN TO THOSE THAT KNOW MORE THAN YOU lol
