I have a used 30 gallon tank and now it is starting to leak slightly. The black strip on the bottom of the tank that supports the glass is loose in the front of the tank and it is slowly seeping some water. I'm not sure what to do and hope that this isn't a serious problem. I don't want to come home one day and find that the tank has collapsed from the weight of the water!!! Should i get some glue or something better for this? Or scrap the tank and get a bigger one?!?!

Hey there,
unfortunately Your best bet would be to to scrap the tank and either replace it or upgrade it.

IMO a tank over 10 gallon should never be repaired for leaks, as there is too much water pressure to take a chance.

But if you absolutely do not want to get another tank, you can empty it and then try sealing the leak up with some aquarium silicone.

Good Luck!

i had a 56 gallon explode, literally, don't take that chance. i was lucky every thing was still under warranty, i have carpet had to replace, electrical work, almost had a fire from that. i would replace it if I were you.
