Hey folks,

I came home recently from holiday to find that several bits of my setup had sprung leaks, namely the taps on one of my external filters and my UV steriliser were dripping.
I took the steriliser and the filter apart to find no cracks but some of the rubber seals looked as if they had been dissolved away and was wandering if CO2 injection could have caused this as I bubble CO2 straight into the inlet pipe of my filter. My other external filter seems to be running OK without any problems.

Has anyone else encountered problems like this and can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks
Hank

CO2 will damage rubber seals if it comes in contact with them and there isn't much you can do about this. It is always best to use a proper CO2 diffuser/reactor. Eheim state that they look down upon people who have injected CO2 straight into their filters, but haven't stated if it would invalidate the guarantee or not.
