i have an aqua one filter which is second hand, it is a aqua one cf1200.

when i first set up the aquarium a few weeks ago i connected every thing together and the valves leaked.
the thing is, it leaked quite a bit on the filter side of the valve through a small slitt which is ment to be there!!
so... i bought some new rubber rings to go in the valve which it didnt have!! but it still leaked ( i think it was due to me
playing around with this slit with a screw driver to get the rubber ring in...

anyway, i decided to buy some new valves of the net and have just installed the lot. but i have a similer problem with just one
of the valves.
It only drips mabie 2-3 in 10 mins so not that much really

all pipe connections are tight, and the valve cant be faulty because i just got it out of the package and installed it

has anyone else had this problem?? if so, enlighten me

It may well be that the replacement is faulty. Try sending it back. If the on-line shop won't accept them back, and botch a repair, by covering the leaking fitting with plumers tape nice and tight to stop the leak, and then cover the plumers tape with gaffa tape, to ensure it holds. It's a nice botch that should work, but realy the tap/tap seal will need replacing again, as that botch will eventualy fail

Cool i think ill try that! was tempted to put silicone in the gap were the leak is but ill try the tape first!

if it works ill keep the valves and order some other ones just in case this one fails

thanks mate

If your filter is leaking a little now, it will get worse, replace the faulty part or the filter before you come home to a tank of water all over the floor.
