Leak-Free Mopani Wood

I need some established / leak - free mopani wood / bogwood as the stuff I have bought just wants to keep on leaking and leaking!

Can collect in north east region or pay for postage - not too bothered about cost as long as it is leak free!

Doesnt need to be too big and can swap for the pieces I have if need be (2 which are about 10" i think).

I have 5 pieces of bogwood that I used in my aquarium for about 2years and they have stopped leaching tannin.If you are interested, I can send you photos of them. Cheers, Sean

Tech - This stuff has been in new boiled water every week for 6 weeks and it still turns the water brown within hours!

only hope here, is to get some second hand stuff. personally, i would be suspicious of mapani that did not leach. IME, it leaches more than bog wood.

also Purigen is amazing for this and will not leach back into the water when spent like carbon does, just changes colour so you no it needs replacing, or you can renew it if you want using bleech etc, I use it in my 6ft which is full of unboiled wood and it keeps it crystal and lasts for ages!! cant recommend the stuff enough

carbon does not leach back, well not enough to cause problems anyway. i have no problems with Purigen. just, in this case, its a sledgehammer to crack a pea

fair enough but if its crystal clear water your after it's the best product ive ever used.

cost wise its £9.99 for 100ml thats enough to treat 100 gallons for up to 6 months according to Seachem specs.

anyway up to MikeO just my opinion.

1 thing to watch though is its a tiny grain, i used a pair of tights doubled over to house it in my filter!!

I would prefer not to use any chemicals in the water that are not neccessary.

I liked the idea of boiling it out, but I do not have a pan big enough to fit it into
