My new betta, St.Jimmy, is living in a 2.5g with 2 adfs, a shrimp, and a snail. Hes very lazy and the frogs are always scaring him. Should I get rid of the frogs?
I know loads do keep frogs with fish but i breed both ADCFs and ACFs and i would never keep either with my fish.I know of ADCFs that have swallowed neon size fish
that sounds like it's overstocked. How often do you do water changes? Remember, even shrimp and snails add to the bioload of an aquarium. The frogs too!
Two frogs in a 2.5Gallon isn't really a good idea, but 2 frogs with all that? I don't think its a good idea personally, your betta may become stressed if you don't act soon.
If I were you, I'd take everything out - except for maybe one shrimp, the snail, or one ADF. That's waaay overstocked! Snails are riduncously messy, you know. He may be stressed because of bad water quality.
They should be fine. I personally would never keep a snail with a betta; I've found them to produce too much waste, and since bettas are sensitive to high waste content in the water as the bacteria attacks the ends of their long (and poorly circulated) fins. However, just him and a shrimp in a 5g should be perfectly fine.
