Hello all! I have an algae blennie that is getting Really skinny. I have an abundance of brown algae, but he is not interested. I have some green algae sheets but he has not tried any yet. Any suggestions?

I am really sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but he is probably on his way out. Lawnmower Blennies hardly ever accept anything but algae to graze.

However, are you sure he doesn't just look skinny? Vegetable matter is nutritionally poor and passes through the Blenny's digestive system fairly quickly; they will look close to emaciated in the morning, but plump as a pig in the evening.

Seems pretty skinny all day. Oh well just hate to lose a fish.

Thanks

These should not be sold in the hobby, as far as I am concerned. I lost 3. Not one would eat anything, including algae. Cyclopeeze will not help this fish in the long run even if it would eat it.

Watching these expressive fish starve to death is really terrible.

That's unusual, every one that I have seen ate like an animal.

Perhaps they are a similiar situation as the Cleaner Wrasse...?
