Hiya
Just come to feeding time tonight and firstly saw that the smaller of my two plecs seems to have something majorly wrong with his skin, it looks like bits of it have come off, they're a lot lighter and have no texture. Then I noticed that my elephant nose has got quite a large gash out his side, well more of a graze, but still large, it was white with red streaks through it. So, the problem is what is doing it, I haven't noticed any problems aside from the plecs tussling for space behind the wood, which will be rectified tomorrow when I get some more, and both the elephants seemed to be doing fine. I haven't been able to do water tests because I'm all out, but it should be fine. I'm quite heavily stocked, in fact well over the limits but I am waiting for a bigger tank and have serious filtration and an airpump going, and do regular water changes.
In my tank; guppies, useless and not to blame, neither are the danios; a siamese fighting fish- responsible for taking chunks out of guppies tails but more a case of mistaken identity; 3 baby clowns- fairly useless too as far too small. So, the main culprits - the larger plec who is now about 8 or 9"; the featherfin cat who is about 6 and is rather mean but who seemed not to be at all bothered by the elephants, and even though he's big and mean he'd have to be stupid too to take on a plec right? And then the elephants. Got bogwood, plants, flowerpots and some slate lying on the floor, so could be that Dumbo the elephant caught himself on that right?
I'm really lost, I put a small dosage of Esha 2000 in as not sure of the ingredients for the elephants, and will water change and test tomorrow. My mum wants to put her Dumbo and Bumbo in another tank, but the only one I've got is far too small and they'd hurt each other, or Cederick the lil plec could come out. I'm thinking of trying to find him a new home anyway.
Ok, Im blabbing now, but any ideas would be great, thanks.
