Alright silver, (and pardon this quick hijacking), you get to ask me betta questions, so now is my time for a question for you about blood parrots. Do they always start out brown and go that bright orange? Because I rarely see any brightly colored ones in the stores, they're always brownish. -_-

Alright Julie.......

Yes, most of the time they start out darker and then as they grow they develop their colors, much as bettas would  ;)

They can become Peach, Orange, Red or even stay splotchy and apparentley their are some creamy colored ones too..... As they get older, 4 + years, they get more pinky for the most part :dunno:

Edit > BUT, if you are looking for a NON-DYED Parrot then you should be looking for a young black, brown, gray or mixture of the three colors...but that doesn't go to say that ALL parrots are dark. My Baby Polly had a TAD bit of orange coloring to him when I first got him, like in his throat area if you can tell, so I new he was gonna be orange. I can't wait to get more recent pictures of the little devil so you can see just how orange he is now. There is only a bit of brown along his head and spine!!

common ownt any body second my nom for the 2nd pic????? those fish are amazing........
