Tank reared Tilapia Mombassica don't get as big as the one's we catch, but they are only really colourful during breeding (mouthbreeder)

well i would prefer the most colourfull bigish cichlids

Any of the bigger "Sunfishes" are really colourful when they mature around 8" up to 12".. Unless, ure talking exclussively Malawian.... Then, there is an unlimited variety.

what are the dimensions of the tank ?

are you menaing malawis?

what is in tank so far?

Im not sure about colour,
But i always find Frontosa to be the best large african cichlid.
They also become quite personable after time.

I would suggest you identify the fish you already have, and finish cycling, before adding any new fish.

You also would do best to take back the jewel if you do in fact have mbuna. The jewel isn't going to be able to stand up to the aggression of mbuna, and not only that almost all mbuna are herbivores and the jewels aren't. :good:
