 I'm trying to figure out what type of material to use to build land in an aquarium.
I currently have a 5g and 30g setups and i'm about to start a 125g tank.Im going to leave about 8"of water out of the tank so I can add small frogs and such to the tank.I want to build a partial land mass on top of the water complete with a stream and water fall but what material would be best suited for this project. Thanks for any help.

Smoky, try siliconing a sturdy piece of plexi horizontally in one end, and then you wont have to build up so much land mass.

Thanks for the reply.Sounds like a plan. But what if i wanted to make contours and such say for a small stream some type of putty or how about fiberglass resin will this affect my water quality in anyway?

Nice idea this smoky

not too sure about fiberglass -_- - too many solvents???

GL's idea probably best. Maybe build upt the rough shape with other pieces of plexiglass/acrylic or pvc (large pipe cut in half for the river effect?) and cover with natural material?

Use bits from water features/ponds?

O yeah and for this project once you work out how its going to be made - howabout doing a photo diary on it for the members and the site   ;) B)

I for one would like to see how this project developes :D

:)
