My Rena aquarium has a slightly yellow look to the overall lighting effect

From front to back:

1x 54w Aqua flora T5
1x 30W Triton
1x 30W Aracdia Freshwater
1x 30W Arcadia Freshwater
1x 30W Sylvania Aquastar (10,000k)
1x 54W Aqua flora T5

Will replacing the sylvannia with a hagen Powerglo give a better overall lighting, i.e less yellow?

Also Powerglo is rated 18000K, and yet is supposed to still be good for freshwater plant growth.

Help !!

:)

I have 1 Hagen power glo on my 30 Gal tank, I also have 1 hagen aqua glo and 2 GE aquarays..

As I know the power glos are good for fresh water tank even thought they are 18000K as well as the aqua glos.. But I am not sure if they will solve your yellow tint issue..

i will check mine tonight to see what kind of color it gives..

Hello Oazanki,

somone answered my posy (yippee!!)

I have since bought a powerglo and replaced the Aquastar. Considering the tank is deep this light can only help i assume.

The yellowness is still there although i think (Ithink) its lessend slightly. However when i look fome the side of the Aquarium t the otherside I can see the tv and it has a brownish tinge.

I thin perhaps the water is tinted, from the mango wood probably and this might play a part in the yellowness. perhaps it could be the plant fertilizer pillow in the external filter?

Thanks for replying, but yes tell me what colour you see your powerglo as.
