I have had two Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish in my tank for about three weeks. Male and female.
Found the female had died some point this afternoon. Was fine when i went to work but found it being sucked on by a brisltenose this eveing.
No sign of injury on body or disease.
Water parameters checked and they are fine: ph 7.6, ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm and nitrate 20ppm.
A water change was due today but was unable to. Normally do 50-60% weekly with gravel vac.

The temperature had crept up on the tank to just over 28c when it is normally about 27c. It is fine now and the heater is ok.
All the other fish are fine including the male Kutubu.

I know in the wild that they live in temperatures of 24c but i know people keep them with other fish at higher temps as in the LFS.

Any advice from Kutubu keepers whether its best to return the other Kutubu or is it likely to be unexplained death? Is the temperature ok for it?
Its still a young fish but has beautiful blue and occasionally displays the yellow across the top but will return it if its best.
