I know there is a discussion elsewhere regarding tail-docking but I just wanted to show a picture of my friends lovely labrador who had to have his tail taken off due to injury - he was just TOO happy bless him. His tail didn't stop wagging and he ended up with a split/sore on it. The vet could not stitch it and it just would not heal because he kept wagging his tail and it was hitting obstacles in the process. A bit of the tail was taken off to begin with but that didn't heal properly either. In the end a lot more had to go :(

This is before (you can just see a tail I think - yellow lab on the right):

The other two lovelies are my Sadie (in the middle) and her brother on the left :)

This is after:

He is incredibly agile and it hasn't affected his balance at all. He is still as happy as ever and the bit of the tail that is left still never stops wagging :D

Aww bless him.. He has a gorgeous face.. My mums cat had to have her tail of as she broke it years ago, and she gets on fine.. The three of them look so happy in the first pic. :good: x

He is a lovely boy :good: They are all very special

I caught my cat's tail in the back door once and he disappeared for ages afterwards - luckily there was no damage. He was still a young kitten so I think hi bones were still very soft. I felt dreadful afterwards

Ahhh a buch of happy labs  Poor boy - it must have been painful going through those ops and then not healing properly again. But he looks fine now and a very handsome boy :good:
