theres a breeding group of 7 L340s local to me, what sized tank woud they need?

For the 7 with plenty of hiding places... minimum IMO is 3 foot..... be wary though... the pic that the person has up isn't a 340... its either 66 or 333.... not sure if they have just used a pic they found online but....

& i have 2 tanks just shy of 3ft (80cm) would that be ok since i'm making 2 groups?

Yep them tanks will be fine, with enough hiding places you would probably get away with all 7 in one if really needed. The price is excellent for a breeding group (well for a breeding group of 66/333 the price is still excellent). The fish usually sell for about £20 each averagely for sub/adult so to get the 7 and it being a breeding group... someone is getting a bargain
