I've had this little dude for a while now, he was really shy for a long while but recent weeks he's been really coming out to play but I took a pic because after looking on planet catfish at L199's he doesn't look like any of the pics on their site! What do you think, L199 or something else?

looks like L129 to me, colombian zebra pleco
Dave

It's colours aren't coming out well I had to hide a bit to take the pic, it has more of a greenish body like the L134 but with closer together stripes. It's black stripes not brown and I have seen lots of pics and real life L129's but it doesn't look like none of them either lol, looks more like a L236 or L270 (see planet catfish) in real life but doubt it's either of those

It's probably going to be 129 or 340. It looks more like the latter, but it tends to be somewhat rarer.

I saw some L129's the other day, they were chocolatey more like clown plec's, this one has more like a L134 colouring
It's definitely not a L340 as I had one and was nothing like it at all
Hmmmmmmm I wonder what it is :/
Will try to get other pics

if it came in listed as 199, there's nothing else it could be. And it's not 199.

You mean it has to be a L129?
Not convinced really :/
It came from Wildwoods, I would be surprised at them for getting that wrong! The only reason I questioned it was when I saw the pics on Planet Catfish and they looked different to mine.
Here is another pic, dorsal might help

i still say L129, not all colombia zebs are chocolate colour, most i have seen are near identical to the one in your pic.

Just had a look again on Planet Catfish and none of the pics of the L129 look like mine either it's all very strange!

I've kept and bred the "species" regularly for the last 6 years (some of the fry pics on the planetcatfish profile are mine). 270 is a chunkier fish with a less angular profile. Lines on the fish are much larger and thicker, with an irregular, nonparallel vermiculation.

On top of this, if the TC purchased the fish as 199, there is no way the fish could be 270, which is a Brazilian species.

Knowing all of this, it begs the question;

What the hell are YOU talking out of?

Got another photo of him

Still think it's L129? He is not shy at all, he is out all the time
