He's grown a little since then and also he is more of a green colour than the photos show. He is very active which is great!

Dylema - if you want a Royal, be prepared for the poop! Never known a fish like it. KathyM warned me about these poop machines but it's got to be seen to be believed. We have to gravel vac every other day just to cope with his woody poop all over the place.

I love Royals and you get all different types. We would love another but don't think we could handle double the amount of poop to scoop!

Thanks for the tip but even though I want one I can't have one. I live in a rental place in Australia and am not super rich. They are not easy at all to come by (so are very expensive) and I have not space/money now for one.

I will just have to look at pictures for now.

This photo was taken about 6 weeks ago and he has filled out into a nice chubby boy now. He's also a bit greener in colour. He is probably about 4 1/2 inches so still a baby really.

Awesome! He looks very much like mine. However mine is very shy. Always swimming back under his bogwood when anybody watches the tank. Have you witness the tumbleweeds made of poop in your tank yet?

Hi Crossfc

No tumbleweeds of poop, but the poop is everywhere! LOL! And because he is a very active boy, he spreads it all over the place! We bought a gravel vac that you plug in the mains, that filters the poop and puts the water back in the tank. We bought it just because of Eddie so we can vac every other day without having to do water change. It is a blessing with this messy boy!

He's very nice Bex, something I read by nmonks (I think) said that they should only eat wood and vegtation or they build up fatty deposits.

Also borrow a camera and get another pic of him now pleaseee.

Don't worry JayJay! He only eats wood and veggies. You saw the pics of my tank didn't you? Got some huge bits of wood in there and he munches on it all day long and then poos it back out all over the tank! He goes bonkers for cucumber, once he starts on it he isn't interested in anything else. Never even seen him sniff at anything remotely meaty. Oh, and he eats Sera Catfish Chips - got Willow and Alderwood in it

As for the camera, we're gonna have to buy one so saving for a decent one. Not going to be able get any piccies for a while It took my mate ages to download all the piccies last time (we took loads) and I felt a bit bad but will ask her if I can borrow it again for just a couple
