Very easy to keep, reasonably placid and gets on well in most community tanks. Omnivorous but prefers a meatier diet, so adding both veg and a meaty source is a good idea, does well in a broad range of temps but low 80's IME they prefer. Like to have a lot of wood and slate to hide.

Over all a gorgeous little plec that reaches no more than 5 inch TL and looks superb.

Hope that helped.

that's great thanks! =D

w got a shipment of l134 and l142's in at work so i may get one =D rather expensive though!

The L142 is a stunning plec aswell but do get much larger, you wont be disappointed in the 134, how much is expensive by the way, if you don't mind me asking?

aye indeedy the 134 took my eye straight away! well its not expensive to some but £34.99, thats nearly a days wage for me lol i do get discount though so its not too bad, theyre about 2-3" right now, the 142's are £29.99

Very good price for 2-3 inch fish, with a discount aswell even more a bargain, if you decide to get one get some pics up :)

I shall once theyre ready =] its a shame they didnt come to us in the best shape! =[

what would be the perfect food to fatten them up a little bit? i think that thats the problem tbh

One of the best foods ive found for conditioning plecs is earthworm pellets other than that any high in protein foods but try to balance with some veg or algaeand variety wafers just for that little more variety, to much protein for some reason in 134's tends to give or make them get bloat, never experienced it myself but many people have commented on it.

I recently received a group of L134's, the latest addition to my collection. I also have L-333's, L-204's, L-10a's, and several different varieties of common BN pleco's. The BN's and L-10a's get zucchini once weekly to supplement their diet and keep their digestive systems cleared out. The others don't seem to bother with it. They are also fed New Life Spectrum pellets and a good quality cichlid flake, with the occaisonal treat of frozen bloodworms. Even the L-204's thrive on this diet w/out any problems, though they do eat their share of driftwood as well. The BN spawn very well, and I expect the rest will too when they mature enough.
