Hi The-Wolf :)

He's beautiful! Best of luck with him!

He must be very special for you to have ordered him from so far away. Would you tell us a little about this kind of pleco?

The L128 Ancistrinae sp. (blue phantom pleco) is very similar to the L200 (green phantom pleco)
both can be found in the Orinoco (although in different locations) and both can reach 10" in the wild.
Many scientist belive the L128 to be a colour morph of the L200
but just as many believe this to be a seperate species; untill a genetic study of both fish is done
this debate will continue.

they prefer a pH of 6-7 and can take a temp range of 73-80F

I also have a L200 in another tank.

The L128s are a beautiful plec, one of my favourites for sure.

You need to be very careful and make sure it is eating, the L128 wont be an algae hoover in your tank so don't expect it to live off algea. You should feed frozen foods such as shrimp, cockle or mussel, and deffinately suppliment its diet with algae wafers or sinking wafers.

Lovely fishie

I wonder, do the spots on the lower half of the body dissapear as they grow older ?
I saw some at wholesale tropicals a few months ago and they (similar to the L200) only had spots on the upper half of the body (they were around 4") ?

Actually - just found a good aricle on Scotcat with pics of both.

I just wish my L200 was a bit more visible :/
