Just bought a loverly L128 at the weekend. One of the nicest looking plecs i've seen (imo).

Anyways, i've got a 260L Jewul Vision which is heavily planted, with bog wood in and very few fish. I've just checked the pinned thread of 8 inchs and under, and the article hinted that these plecs can get to 9? If so, he'll be too big and start ripping up my plants!

So, will he get that big?

I've also got a clown plec which is loverly, but i've only seen him once in the last 2 months (at the weekend)!

I'm also feeding bloodworm, daphina, algea wafers, fish food. Is this varied enough for my clown plec and L128?

Oh, and go easy, it's my first time in the catfish forums.

Hiya welcome to the pleccy bit :D

L128 is listed on Planet Catfish as reaching 7.1" standard length (ie. not including the tail, which is quite impressive in the species). It's not unlikely that they can reach 9" in total length. Maybe someone on here who's owned one could advise you on your plant worries - best of luck (and can we have pics?).

I wouldn't worry too much the chances of it reaching that size is pretty small imo.

L128s are omnivores so a varied diet is best. I'd feed what you're feeding now but with a selection of fresh veg as well.

Thanks for the advice. What fresh veg, potato? Cucumber? How long do i leave in, over night?

I'll post some pics later (if i can lure him away from the undergrowth). I'm rushing off to watch Arsenal Beat Spurs down the pub.

Sort of got a photo of mr Plec, i'll keep trying for a better picture.

Oh, and what about veg, what do you recommend?

That’s a stunning pleco, keep him well feed on a varied diet and that should stop him chewing on your plants, but sadly it won’t stop its tail! LOL
