As the topic states: Would a L104 Clown Pleco be fine in a 15 gallon tank, assuming that is the L number of the one I'm thinking of (max size of 4 inch), or does it need a bigger volume?

Alternatively, are there any Plec species that you know would be fine in a tank of that size?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Apologies, just looked at the sticky threads. Perhaps I should have done that first.

Ok, so it is the correct L number but it seems the L104 is not suitable so are there any other on that list of small plecs that would be suitable for a 15 gallon tank?

15 Gallons is a little to small for plecs, but 1 you possibly could fit in would be a L260 Queen Arabesque. They only get to around 3.5" in length and are a very nice fish. Kept with small mid dwellers I think you may just get awaty with it.

dont gorget the differance in UK and US gallons....

we used to use a 2ft tank to breed our bristle noses in. - it was 12uk gallons - 15us.

3 adults and loads for fry, along with 4 xray tetras and 2 3" ladder loches. With good filtration and maintanance - it was fine.

one 4" plec should be fine :)

Thanks for the advice and suggestions all. :)

Would have replied sooner but have been a little busy. I'll keep an eye out for the other ones you suggested but I think it will be easier to get my hands on some otto's so will probably go with 3 otto's as I hear they prefer being kept in small groups.

Could someone tell me which of the catfish forums I should post threads regarding otto's? I'm a little unsure.

Again, thanks.
