i am really likeing the look of both these plecos, just wondered which would be more suited to 125l and if i could get away with 2-3 (hoping then to form a pair)

the tank has plenty of wood/tunnels etc for the cories so territories in theory shouldn't be an issue

i can get hold of either via my LFS i just don't know which to have

i had the L168, and my tank is roughly the same size as yours and i would comfortably have at least 2 in there, maybe room for 3, depends on the footprint of your tank i guess. mine is 4ft long but quite slim and short, so i had a lot of floorspace for my capacity. a tank which is the same capacity but taller would presumably have a smaller footprint, so i guess it depends on the shape of your tank aswell.

as for the fish, mine only lasted a month but i was never totally convinced he was in the best of health when i got him, i took a bit of a chance on him and i lost. however while he was alive he was great to look at. when hes fully black and white they look great, and the shape of the body is very different to other plecs (flat, hence flounder plec). looks like hes been squashed  his colours would darken when he was laying on my wood, going sort of battleship grey with black stripes, mega. he liked to munch on algae wafers a lot, and was totally placid like most plecs. i would love to get a baby one at some point, if i lose one of my plecs i might order one actually.... :hey:

my tank is 3 x 1, am really liking them just for the fact there different, have only kept BN's in the past, i have a bulldog currently in another tank, i miss having plecos

Either will be fine, they both require they same conditions and size is evenly matched.... the L52 is usually much more strikingly patterned but both are quite nice plecs.

3 will be fine in a 3 foot tank, as you've mentioned.... you all ready have plenty of places to hide so your tank sounds perfect.

i paid 19 quid for mine, never seen another for sale so no idea if thats decent or not.
