Not sure if this is the spot for this, but can one breed Kuhli loaches in a tank.....I have 2 Kuhli loaches.......very active day or night........i was just wondering.

Thanks

Yes it is possible but you will usually need more than two to be succesful, to get them to breed condition them in the same way as you would corydoras.

Ahh I see.....the larger the group the better my chances? How can you or can you even tell sex with these guys.?

Thanks

Reproduction........Egg Layers.(see further information) Has been breed in Home aquariums, when they pair up they will wrap around each other and lay eggs on surface, some may fall ,others will float in surface floating plants, they have green eggs and have breed in captivity, they will lay on floating water plants ( the eggs) water sprite is a good source of breeding plant for them.

hope this helps see my web index for more info!

With my breeding Kuhli's i found out that the female Kuhli seems to climb more often than the male. ;) The eggs will start off being layed high in vegetation then they move lower down releasing the eggs as they find and look for perfect laying positions. Some egg's will be layed in the lower end of the tank but this is just there tiredness. The green eggs are not a decoy to most fish as they sence or smell life in them but a healthy planted tank will hide them. So you should remove the eggs and place them in a 10gal tank with 50% of the same water transfeird to the new tank . Food will be found in the rotifiers of the filter (squeezed left over food from the filter).

Contact me for more info on this ! (18 baby kuhli's alive now!) ;)

Does anyone know if it's possible to breed kuhlis with black kuhlis? I would think not, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. I have one kuhli, and a bunch of blacks, and they all hang out together. Any word on the best water conditions to encourage breeding? Also, how large of a group are you talking about? I read once that the kuhlis are more likely to mate if they have a cave or some other type of secluded space.
Thanks in advance for any additional info!
