What's the best way to treat a kuhli loach for ick? I just received three from an online store. One was dead, one died and now this one looks like it's going to but might have the ick.

Thanks

Well what looked like ick this morning turns out to be a full blown fungus when I returned home this afternoon.

I don't have much hope but would like to try.

Well I've used Interpet meds before but I don't think you guys get it over there.
I used it in a community tank that had a Kuli in (though I don't think the loach was affected visibly by the ICH when I started dosing). He wasn't affected in any way and is still doing very well.

Bad time to be getting Kuhlis.... still. Try Maracyn II or whatever deriviative they have for ich. It's safe for virtually everything though their ich medication might be slightly different so check before using it.

quickcure the strongest medicine of all in curing ich. but u probably have to half does with this as it was too damn strong.

When is the best time to get them? I am now thinking about some black ones.

A few months from now. Maybe longer. The Kuhli supplies have been off because of disease for almost 2 years now. So far as I know though, the black ones are faring better.

I found one nice little guy locally so I sent for some others and that sure was a bust. The last one just passed away. Poor little guy.

I saw a source for black kuhli's but don't know how good the place is... it's online and called ... fish2u
They don't have regular kuhli's in but do have the black ones.

I've gotten snails from them before. They came and thrived for a few months but then one by one died on me. I think that was more to do with the water temperature than quality of their stock though.

I had my lfs store order me 4 kuhlis two weeks ago. They're small but doing great! He's getting me 4 more in tomorrow!!!!
