so i've just recently discovered kuhli loaches and i'm dying to get some. can anyone give me some info about them, or personal stories?
also, are they common at pet stores or are they difficult to find? thanks.

I've got 4 Kuhlis in a 10 gallon, and I gotta say these are a great small fish...very entertaining.

Kuhlis can get up to 4 inches in length, and love to be in groups, so I'd say get no fewer than 3-4 of them. They come in a few different color varities including the original striped, a black/brown, and even albino. They need places to hide, so I would say get them some caves...mine prefer hiding out around the stems of my plants. They are crazy little fish...mine swim right along the tank walls for hours on end, looking like little worms or water snakes.

They are great little fish, and I highly recommend you pick some up. You won't be dissapointed. :)

Hope this helps you out!

at my lfs they have some tubes which their kuhlis love to hide in, sometimes i can't see any juhlis in teh tank till i love int eh tube and there's like 50 in there  i heard the were hard to get in the US tho

personal stories... they jump!

cover any holes they could get out of!

oh and our are not so small any more (3.5")

I have two Kuhlis (I'll be getting more once I have this ich under control) and just love 'em! Arashi gave good info on 'em, so I won't repeat it  Most people say they rarely see their Kuhlis, but I see mine almost every time I look in the tank. They like to hide in the plants and are very cute  Haven't had any troubles with mine jumping - didn't know they were likely to do it. Maybe that's why I had dreams about my Kuhli Loaches escaping last night

Enjoy yours!

I think two of mine jumped, but I can't find them. I gotta buy some more friends for my lonely survivor! :/

I have 5 of them and they are definitely more active and easy to see when you have heavy plant cover (fake or real). They still get scared and hide in the decoration when I come too close but not as often now and they've begun to stay in the plants as well.
