This is not normal, this is the first time kuhli doing this. Is it because low oxygen level? @Colin_T

The Khuli loach is covered in excess mucous, which is caused by poor water quality or chemicals in the water.

Check the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH of the tank water.

Do a big water change.

Post a clear picture of the fish

@Colin_T Water parameters ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate about 7-10, just done water change + put 1 table spoon of salt and fungus med.

If you have to use medications on loaches, you only use half strength because they are scaleless fishes. But there's no need to add medications because it doesn't have a fungal infection.

So whats on the white belly? Just a pattern or mucous?

just looks like a white belly, but could have excess mucous on it

So is that normal behavior? Because when i bought 13 of them years ago they all jump out the tank and dead even if the tank is well covered they go though the TINIEST hole of the cover.

No the fish swimming in the video is not showing normal behaviour.

Khuli loaches are nocturnal and should hide during the day and come out at night. They normally swim around the bottom of the tank looking for food.

When they are introduced into a new aquarium, they might explore it after dark and swim up and down and all over the tank, but it shouldn't happen during the day.

-------------------
If new fish panic and jump out of the tank shortly after being added to it, there is usually something wrong with the tank water. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and chemicals can all cause fish to try and get out of the aquarium.

If the fish have been kept in soft acid water and you put them in hard alkaline water, or vice versa, they might try to get out of that water because it is not what they are used to.

I am not going to guess as to the issue, but I certainly agree with Colin, the kuhlii in the video is in trouble. And I agree, no medications unless you can identify the issue fairly accurately and then select the best and safest treatment.

The gravel substrate is not good with loaches, especially kuhlii who like to burrow in sand. I am not suggesting this is the issue, but stress from not having what they expect does factor in to all disease problems and fish health in general.

The parameters may be another factor, meaning GH and pH. There are fish requiring hardish water in the video, and fish the opposite.

They doing this all day after I do water change.

If all of them are zipping around the tank straight after a water change, it could be poisoning from the new water, or they might be getting ready to breed.

If they are breathing normally and none have died, then hopefully it's breeding time.

I use fully cycled well water and kuhli is 3 inches big.

Do you aerate the well water before using it?

Well water can stagnate and lose the oxygen. Aerating it for 30 minutes or more before using it can get the dissolved gasses back to normal.

Whats the smallest tank size for 6 kuhlis? and how to change gh and kh for kuhli?

Smallest tank size is about 18 inches long x 10-12 inches wide x 10-12 inches high.

What is the GH and KH of your well water?
