Kuhil loachs hides

I have 5 kuhli loaches as well and they're out and about most of the time. The funny thing is, the more hiding places they have, the safer they will feel and the more they will come out. ;) I have a couple of pieces of driftwood and loads of plants (you can see pics of it here, just to show what I mean by loads).

The "problem" with your tank I think are the cichlids. Kuhlis come out only if they feel safe and I have a feeling the cichlids scare them. I doubt you'll see much of them in that setup. :/

yeah they are scared of cichlids :(
anyways do you feed yours at lights out time or before?
and how will i know if the kuhils are geting feed?

Edit-When i get a decent camera i;ll post some pics coz my tank is heavily planted
to plus theres alot of hide holes :D

I feed all my fish about an hour before the lights go out. I don't have anything that would scare them away from their food, so that works fine, and I get to see them all at once as well. :) Might be a problem with the cichlids in your case though.

As for how you'll know, well, beats me. ;) I know because I see them eat. I suppose you just watch how they look; I've seen terribly skinny little things at the LFS that can't have eaten for weeks. :(

Can't really FORCE a fish to do anything, they will come out in due time :)
