Krobia Sp.Oyapok

Hey guys so I recently just got 5 of these to go in my South American tank. They have been going really well and are a amazing fish, I just cannot seem to find any information online about them. If you guys could provide some info on how to breed or anything it would be greatly appreciated.

You have a really uncommon fish there. I've seen it at a wholesale place here, but have never kept it. What I've been told is about what you'd find online - open spawners, precocious spawners, good broodcare, warmer water (26ish). That's pretty generic for a Cichlid from there, but the only person I know who has had them spawn found them to be pretty standard in their behaviour and needs. He really liked them though. If he had raised fry, I probably would have bought some based on his enthusiasm for the species.

For how to, I'd use a 3ft, one m tank with a single pair and no other Cichlids. The water would be soft. I think then, it would just be a matter of patience.

Is this verified as a unique species or is it one of the other krobia that migrated ? I.e, it is named after the catch location but i'm not sure - i really couldn't find much to distinguish it from dolphin cicihld.

Btw i have a pile of Krobia xinguensis; they breed like little bunny rabbits without encouragement in tap water (140 tds).

The Oyapock River has had some things come out of it recently - nice fish. I'm assuming because it isn't sp cf, or sp aff, that it is seen as a new discovery.
Fishbase shows 4 described species in the Genus.

Ok after i said nice fish i did a bit of searching and 2020 found a post by tangleupcichild describing it as a colour morph of a dolphin cichild (which was my first guess); having said that it might actually be a different species as i don't think anyone has done a dna squence of it (yet).

Krobia Sp.Oyapock is just what they where labelled in the store
