must be getting on for two inches nose to tail , these are photos of when i had them about 5 months ago , the one that has not so many markings and is duller ,has changed in the last few weeks , now has a tail spot and more spots along the top fin,. when i bought them i was told i had a male and female , so now wondering if i have got my sexes muddled[always thought the one with the red belly was the male ] or indeed what have i got , am going to try to get it to stay still and take another photo ..maybe that will help , thanks for answering .. pebbles

The top one is definately female. The second isn't Kribs, it's Frontosa's ;) The third pic doesn't show??? And the forth looks to be female, too, but harder to tell from the picture. It's a beaut, either way

If you want to see pics of mine, click the WWW below my post and view the Kribensis album in my Webshots. They are all labled as "Mom" or "Dad", or something to that affect, so hopefully they help.

:)

We posted at the same time, Pebbles :D At 2", they are easily sexable. The red belly, I mean RED, will be a female. The males do get "pink" in the tummy, but not like the females. And "normally" the females have the egg spots, though I have seen them on males occassionally.

The males Dorsal fin will have color through the whole thing, all the way to the tip, will be extended out to a point and will grow almost to the end of the tail fin. The female's dorsal, although colorful, will be clear near the tip, and will be shorter and rounded off.

:)

The "fronts" was another of the "orphan" posts. It does not belong in this thread - sorry.

Yup, those were my fronts, somehow...our wires got crossed because I wound up with Krib pics and you must have got my fronts

so you are suggesting the second is a female[very pink/red belly] , even tho she has spots on her tail and upper fin , The first now has the top fin quite long and extended .the tail has a spot and the beginning of spots on the top fin, fairly sure he must be a male . he wont stay still for his photo at the mo , will try later . i thought they were the other way round when i had them ..

:fish: Males also have a diamond shaped tail, the female's is rounder.
the male will grow slightly larger than the female and is slimmer. The male will show a red colouration to his belly when breeding or feeling territorial :D
