I bought two kribs on saturday and they seem to be doing fine.
positive about one being female but not sure about the sex of the other.
would a female krib display to another female? (belly turns deep purple when other is around and fins up).
thanks in advance.

The male should be alot more slimline and have an exagerated dorsal fin, the female will appear rounder in the belly both can develop a coloured belly although the females is alot more pronounced during breeding the male usually displays more orange along its entire length of it dorsal.. You may see either the male or female shiver when showing off to his/her prospective mate.

Here is a good pic taken by julibob of her pair:

Male is to the left as you look at the monitor..

I think i have a pair as the one i think is male has orange all the way down its dorsal fin and it only has a slight tinge of pink on its belly compared to the female who is a deep purpley pink all the way up to near the dorsal fin.
thanks, chris.
