I have a pair of kribs in my 55g tank and they seem very happy. A few months ago they had some babies (all male) which I've been keeping in my 20g tank with my guppies and mollies. The problem is that the babies are just too big for the 20g tank now. My fish shop have agreed to take them off my hands but i'd really like to keep one. Would it cause problems with his parents if i put one of them in the 55g with them?

If the parents dont recognise the new fish as one of their own offspring then they will try to chase him away from their territory. From what i have learnt if you leave the fry with the parents they form a family group and the older grown up fry will help guard and protect future broods, how long this goes on for i dont know.
