kribs making cave ready again

I've just noticed the female krib spitting gravel out of the cave, so I guess she wants to have another try at having babies...

they had eggs once before, but they disappeared...

just a question for if it really never works: if the eggs keep disappearing, can I remove the cave with the eggs stuck to it?
I don't know it this would cause the eggs to die, or maybe they will live but they won't have the natural instinct to care for their own fry in the future?

Gosh, if this is just their second go around don't even be thinking about it - they just may need lots of practice till they get it right.

But probably better than elephant keeping (average gestation 22 months).
