Hello,
I have had my krib for about 4 years now. Recently I moved him and my 26 gallon bow front tank to a new place. He developed fin rot within a few days of the move and i was able to cure him. He was near dead.
Now, I have been watching him. At first he had a whiteish coloration around his mouth. Then, i noticed his mouth is almost deformed - it appears to be a tumor or growth of some sort, but i can't find any good pictures to know for sure.
I am pretty sure that he has fin rot again too as his definitely has some loss of fins.
I think this is my fault. Ever since the move, i haven't been able to change the water as frequently as i used to. And i have a lot of barbs in my tank. Kribs love fresh water being riverine.
So the question is, can anyone assist me with identifying this growth on his mouth? and perhaps with suggesting treatment. From what i have read, tumors are often not something that can be cured.
Some pictures of diseases affecting the mouth area would be extremely helpful - nothing posted in the FAQ in this forum looked like what he has.
thank you for any suggestions! Unfortunately i don't have any water chemistry to share - i need to get a kit.
