Hi there !

Just thought that Kribensis tend not to eat their frys? I have a pair of Kribs, this is the 3rd batch of frys. For some reason all the frys dissapeared...do they eat their frys like other fishes? They had approx 50 but were totally gone.

Sometimes, if the parents are feel threatened, they will eat their fry.

What size tank are they in? :dunno:

Any tankmates? :dunno:

How often and what are you feeding them? :dunno:

With my kribs, they raised their first batch, and I still have 20+. I left a few baby kribs in their tank, and also added some juvie swordtails to the tank. They then ate their second batch.

Sometimes it does take a few times for the parents to get it right.

:)

I do not know the answers but I do have a question. We were looking into to getting a male-female Krib pair for our 42 US gallon tank. Right now there is a giant danio, 3 bengal loaches, and a tiger oscar who will be moving to a new much larger home as soon as he grows a little more.

Are Kribs easy to keep? Will they get along with the loaches? Is there anything special we need to know before we order them?

Kribs are relatively easy to keep.

What are the dimensions of your tank? Is it a hex?

The only problem is when your kribs decide to breed. Your bottom dwellers might feel their wrath. You should have lots of hiding places and retreats.

Here's a good site with tons of krib info:

:)

It's an irregular hex (like a bowed front tank but with lines instead of curves) with the back being 36", the first 2 sides from the back being 9", then the next 2 diagonal sides being 8" then the front being 25". I hope that makes sense.

There are quite a few plants and two large rocks with little caves in them. We do need more hiding places I think because our loaches ate the fins off our ropefish and that's why she's in the hospital for a little while. We were thinking of getting 2 more loaches so they would school...we thought maybe they'd be less likely to fin nip if there was a school of them. I don't know...we'll see.

Thanks for the website!
