koi carp

gutted!! lost one of my middle sized kio
on tuesday. what it was about 2 months ago
it had like a boil on its scales on its side and
about a month ago it popped and looked
really sore. would the infection or what ever
it had be in the water. could my other koi's
get it.

sounds like a bacterial infection. Have you tested the ph,nitrite and ammonia recently? did you notice if it was red edged at all?
melafix helps to heal ulcers but you need to find the cause first.

there was slight redness around it
