Everything that comes up in when I search for answers (offsite) are just like “here’s what may be causing stress” with zero info in treatment. And searching here I can’t find results due to the important words being sound and stress.
My iPad isn’t letting me copy and paste the thing in the pinned post, so for the sake of simplicity let’s say everything is normal, no tank mates currently, and he’s a goldfish.
For 2 days he’s been siting in the bottom left corner of the tank near the heater and I haven’t seen him eat. I know what caused him to get stressed, very loud sound. It was close to his tank and lasted intermittently for a couple hours (not in my apartment but the one next door). And I don’t know what I can do, if anything. I would greatly appreciate any insight.

post some pictures of the fish and test your water. read the following link.

What size tank your goldie is in? He might not be just stressed, it could also be bad water quality. What are you water parameters, ammonia nitrite and nitrate?

The water quality has been normal like it has been for the last 7 years. I’m completely certain it’s stress from the sound. The only change was the extremely loud noise. He started acting this way after the noise. *coincidence? I think not*

Members on this forum need your actual numbers to say if either your water quality is the culprit here or not.
Ammonia or nitrite could already build up right sih the noise, so that is what I could call a "coincidence" otherwise it's not a "coincidence".
I would say the stress causes him to sit and not being active, possibly from bad water quality. Loud noises coming from far away from tanks with fish aren't necessarily the culprits of fish stress, but water quality issues.

We are not saying anything against you, by we do need to know the exact numbers :)
Some people (not necessarily you) have been told that different numbers mean different things, even if that isnt true, so for the sake of all of our members be ask for the numbers :)
