Hi,

Now I've got my Roma I'm going to put one of my old 25l tanks into the kitchen because my mother thinks it'll look nice.

I need to buy some fish to put in it, obviously only one or two given the size of the tank. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a betta but I had one once before and it didn't really do a fat lot then it wedged itself between the heater and the tank wall whilst I was at work and died :/

Try to get a well fitting lid if your tank is going in the kitchen, All the smells from your cooking could well effect your water quality, also temp control could be a little more difficult so bare that in mind. A betta is a good option imo, just make sure it can not get trapped, try a fire belly newt tank, i have done before and they seemed happy enough, get some advice from here on them first, as i kept them years ago and am not sure if i was keeping them i correct conditions, they were cool things thou :good:

i've got my shrimp tank (cherry's tigers and amanos) (30l temp tank) in the kitchen at the moment and they're doing fine and the kids love to watch them while eating their tea .

So maybe a shrimp tank would be a good idea :) just another suggestion

they are soon going into the empty tank (60l) in the front room so i will keep the small one with some minnows in while i await my guppy fry cos i'm sure i'll get some fry in the future .
