I have a 55 gal tank with 2 leopard bush fish, a catfish, dwarf gourami, and two cichlids and today i noticed my kissing gourami laying on his side on the floor. He was eating normal yesterday and i’m not sure what happened. i think maybe it could be his old age considering he’s at least 30 years old. any help is greatly appreciated

30 years would be a world record-breaking age, so I'd strongly suspect age to be an issue here.

i don't think I've ever seen a freshwater fish that
has lived over 10 years....let alone 30!

if you've managed to keep this fish alive for 30 years ill be thoroughly impressed by your skills

WELL DONE!

Check the water quality for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.

Do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for 1 week.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.

See if fish is eating anything and check its poop. If it has stopped eating then it's probably dying.
