Hey there. I ordered 2 albino bushinose plecos, and the guy accidently sent me a pair of clown killifish instead. The male didn't survive acclimation, but the female did. I am in a very small apartment, so out of all of my equiptment, I was only able to set up a planted 55g and a small fish pod with mosses. My 55g is heated, as it will house discus eventually. While I am trying to stabilize the temp to 82 (I have read this two be the highest temp for Clown Killis, useful to start the breeding cycle - plus I want to run the tank at the lowest healthy temperature for Discus), I am struggling to keep it below 84.

So, at any rate, I have the female in the 55g. I couldn't send the fish back, and I tried acclimating them as carefully as possible. The guy offered to send me another male. Will the two survive in a fish pod (about a gallon)with a betta? Could the female survive by herself in the pod, as it doesn't have the colorful tail to incite the betta??? I need some advice. Perhaps I can just try acclimating a new male again to a warm tank, get the overall temp down, and add some frogbit. Or, should I just tell him not to send an additional male killi??? I don't have much experience with clown killis. I know many killis can survive in a small amount of water, but that pod has no air stone (betta has a labrinthe organ). I change the water once a week. The temp is likely in the high 70s in the pod. There is a small LED light that illuminates the it, and mosses/star grass are inside of it. Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. If a male and female could survive and mate in a pod, please let me know, as perhaps I can get another small tank for the betta.
