Khulie Loaches and snails?

Are Khulie loaches known to be snail eaters? I would imagine they are too small to have any effect on adult snails, but I've just caught my big black khulie happily making his way across the tank with one of the small baby snails in his mouth! Of course when I caught him in the act he froze for a second and then spat it out and swam away to his hidey hole as fast as he could. He doesn't seem to have killed the snail though as it is now continuing on its merry way.

I don't mind at all if they want to eat the snails, it saves me the bother of having to extract 50 of the damn things every day!
