Hello,
I have a keyhole ciclid with what appears to be a reddish or dark pinkish swim bladder. He is semi-translucent, and I can see into his body.
He acts fine and eats fine. He could possibly be off balance just a bit, but if so, hardly noticeable. Sometimes he seems to bob from side to side a bit, but it could just be the current.
All the water parameters seem to be about where they should be. No other fish in the aquarium have this symptom, although a Congo tetra did have it in the past. That fish died in the quarantine tank after the heater stopped working. I was treating that fish for stomach parasites.
He is in a 48-gallon aquarium with Congo tetras, a disc tetra, rainbow fish, angelfish, denison barbs, ottos, cories and a threadfin acara. Live plants.
No problems other than the reddish internal color. I did treat a Congo tetra recently for what I think was stomach parasites. Has anyone ever had an issue like this?
He is one of my favorite fish. Very peaceful, curious and fun to watch. If there is a problem, I would like to try and treat it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I tried to attach a 1.4 MB JPEG, but I kept getting a message that said the server returned an error during upload.
Thanks,
Mark
