It has been a while, but I believe we used some in a Koi pond when we first put one in at a friends house a few years ago.
I do know, on occasion, they do use that product because they have Koi and Red Eared Sliders living in the same 500 gallon manmade. Both are quite filthy.
I have no idea how doses would work for a fish tank.
