I just moved back into the dorms... it's rather hot here, and we do not have AC. Right now, the water temp is holding steady at 82, which is a little warmer than I like to keep it, but it's not bad. However, today it is much cooler than it has been. It's been REALLY hot here. When I put the water in the tanks yesterday, it was about 77, and it gradually warmed up to 82 because of how hot the room was. It would have warmed up more had this cool spell not hit us.

One of them is in an unfiltered 2.5 Gal. tank, and the other three are in a divided, filtered 10 Gal. How do I keep the temp. down when the weather warms up again?

As long as the temp in the tanks doesn't go over 86 you shoudl be fine. These fish come from tropical waters..and I'm sure it get's blazing hot in Thailand lol.

Otherwise..you have to buy a Chiller...or look in the DIY section, there are instruction on how to make one yourself I think.

okay, thanks. :D

Somewhere quite some time back, I read that you can float zip lock baggies with ice cubes in them in the water to help keep the temp down.

Okay, so I got up this morning and the tanks were WAY too warm. I had to shut the window last night because it rained and it was getting on my roomie's computer. Angel's little tank is about 90 now, and I don't know what the big tank is, because the thermometer only goes to 86. I didn't have any ziploc bags, so I got inventive. Last night I got a big box of popcicles... the ones that when you buy them are just juice in plastic. I don't like the grape ones, anyways, so I am using those to cool off the tanks! Angel looks so cute... he's swimming around flaring at his popcicle!
