Keeping Substrates clean

Does anyone have any suggestions as to keep gravel substrate clean? My tank has been up and running for over two months and the gravel is starting to change from a white/grey mixture to a greeny brown.

I change 10% of my water every week.

Can anyone help?

I've got a syphon, not a vacuum though

Thats the problem...your gravel isn't getting cleaned. Get a gravel vac/siphon combo at your LPS/LFS. Then all you do is run the vacume end over the gravel while you are draining water from your tank. Be careful to not go to overboard when first starting though, that can do more harm than good.
