i was wondering if these are able to be kept? I have read they are foun in reefs in shallow waters like most other reef fish so are they able to be kept? What food ect.

they are syganthids, seahorses, pipefish and moth fish, there are 3 or 4 pipefsh regularly found in fish stores, dragon faces and ghost pipe fish are the most common as I recall.

Reef syganthids need alot of live rock and macroalgea for pod production, other than that they can have there diets suplimented with enritched brine shrimp and mysis shrimp, but live rock is the key for happy fish, give em lots of room to hunt and they will do rather well for you, you are also better off with a rather large tank, syganthids aren't hardy.
