Thought I would start a new one rather than dragging old posts on!!.

Basically if I get a large enough tank say 4ft then would I beable to keep the blue lobster happily along with all other house mates or would it still go out hunting?

I think in my tank I would like mainly shark type tropicals, clown loachs and plecs to do some cleaning!

So would a lobster be OK in a 4ft tank with others or should I get yet another tank (20gallons) for it on his own?

Bought a blue lobster today after having a long chat to the LFS who basically said that as long as the blue was fed every other day(Frozen Fish) he would not attack the others and the Blue Lobsters do not grow too big.

Hi he is in a Juwel 180(180 Ltrs) Vision Tank with some Danios as company, still keeping an eye on the tank and checking levels daily. LFS said to continue as I am as the tank is maturing nicely. Over the next few weeks I will gently introduce others to the tank and keep an eye on the 'friendships' . The Danios have been down to say hi and he was not interested at all. The only thing to bear in mind is that he will need somewhere hide ie somewhere where he can feal safe.

Absolutely fascinating to watch though

Cheers

Jez

Just because they said it won't attack the fish, doesn't mean it won't do it. Crayfish are oppurtunists and they'll eat something or kill it for food later given the chance even if well fed.

yer, think I might put the lobster on hold, set up my current tank for crabs then get another for tropicals. and after I'm happy with them and have them stocked save for a lobster tank, thats of course after paying off my £500 to the parents!!
